Woody – Gentle, Snuggly Terrier Puppy Looking for a Calm, Loving Home
🐾 Meet Woody 🐾
Woody is an approximately 5-month-old Terrier mix puppy, currently being fostered with his sister Jessie in Gloucestershire, in an adult family home with other dogs and visiting grandchildren.
Woody came into our care from a UK stray pound after he was found dumped alongside his sister. Sadly, nobody came forward to claim them. We suspect they may have been unsold puppies abandoned once they were no longer very young.
The day they came in

Everyone who meets Woody falls in love with him. He is a total snuggle bug — gentle, affectionate, and very people-oriented. He enjoys playing with his sister, but they have very different energy levels. Woody loves Jessie dearly and will often be found washing her ears, but he does sometimes wish she’d take a bit more of a chill pill! 😄

Over Christmas, Woody did really well meeting new people and other dogs. He is the more cautious and laid-back sibling. Even out in the fields, he’ll have a little run around and then decide he’s cold and would quite like to be picked up instead.
We feel Woody may have been the runt of the litter, but he is now slowly gaining weight and getting stronger with good care and nutrition.
He has been vet-checked, microchipped, wormed and flea-treated, and has started his vaccinations.
Vet check – good boy

We have noticed that Woody sometimes hops slightly on one back leg when running. Jack Russells and terrier types can be prone to this, but we are arranging for our Vet. to assess this fully before rehoming, and we will update adopters accordingly.
Woody is expected to remain small. Due to his size and gentle, sensitive nature, we will not consider homes with children under 10 years old.
We are looking for adopters who:
Have previous rescue dog experience
Understand terrier traits
Are committed to positive, reward-based training
Will attend puppy training classes
Can offer patient confidence-building and appropriate socialisation
Will not leave him alone for more than three hours at any time
Woody is too young to be castrated, but this will be a requirement of the adoption agreement when he is old enough. For this reason, we cannot home him with entire dogs.
If you have the time, patience, love, and commitment needed for a young rescue dog — and would like to help Woody grow into the wonderful little dog he has the potential to be — we would love to hear from you.
