Peaches – Spaniel Cross- (F)
Gentle Spaniel Cross Looking for a Patient, Loving Home
đŸ Meet Peaches đŸ
Peaches is a 3-year-old Spaniel cross, currently being fostered in an adult home with other dogs in Gloucestershire.
She came into our care via the Dog Warden after being found as a stray near Bristol. Sadly, no one came forward to claim her.
When Peaches arrived, she was in need of a good bath and had several areas of matting that needed to be carefully cut out. Throughout it all, she was incredibly patient, gentle, and trusting, allowing everything to be done without any fuss â a beautiful early sign of her sweet nature.
The little dog who first arrived was completely overwhelmed. She couldnât settle, wouldnât eat, cried through the night, growled at the other dogs, and clearly didnât know how to cope with her sudden change in circumstances.
Not even a week later, a very different Peaches is beginning to emerge.
As she learns that she is safe, she has become calm and settled around the house. If you sit down, she will quietly come over and curl up beside you. She is now relaxed with the other dogs, starting to engage and even play, and happily travels in a crate in the car with Muffin.
Peaches is really beginning to enjoy herself in the secure field, especially chasing a ball alongside the other dogs. Although she was initially very nervous about the car, she is now jumping in on her own, which is a huge step forward.

While we donât have any history for Peaches, we believe she has previously lived in a home. She is house trained, unfazed by the hoover or television, and in the evenings is perfectly content to curl up on the sofa and sleep peacefully.
She has recently enjoyed her first off-lead walk with her foster family dogs in a safe, quiet area. She was very good and clearly enjoyed the experience. On the way home, we stopped for coffee at a busy pub â something that was understandably overwhelming for her. She barked a little and was visibly nervous, but after around 20 minutes, she settled and coped beautifully. This suggests she may never have been taken out much before and may have lived a very limited life.

Peaches has a lovely, gentle nature, but she will flatten to the ground if someone moves too quickly, suggesting she may have been treated harshly in the past. However, the speed of her progress in foster care shows just how resilient she is. With time, patience, kindness, and consistency, we believe she will continue to blossom.

Peaches is looking for a home with people who have rescue dog experience, who understand the importance of building confidence gently through love, routine, and positive experiences. She truly has the potential to be a wonderful companion, and we are absolutely committed to ensuring she is never let down again.
Peaches has been health checked with no issues. She will be spayed, microchipped, wormed and flea-treated, and will have started her vaccinations before leaving us.
