Bear – Springer Spaniel – (M)

Bear – 7-year-old Springer Spaniel
Currently being fostered in an adult home in Gloucestershire, living with other dogs.
Bear arrived with Moss after spending his life as a working gundog. His reason for “retirement”? He had a habit of taking birds from the other dogs’ mouths — and that, somehow, earned him his freedom.
Now this beautiful boy finds himself in a very different world, one filled with soft beds, kind voices, and regular meals. Understandably, it’s all a little overwhelming at first — for a dog who’s only known one way of living, the comforts of home are as confusing as they are comforting.
Bear is another gentle, sweet-natured soul without an ounce of malice. He’s taking it all in slowly, watching, learning, and cautiously beginning to realise that this new chapter might just be the one where life begins.
He’s already been seen by our Vet, where it was found that his ears were in an awful state — severely infected and clearly painful. He’s now on a strong course of medication, and we’re hopeful that with time and care, he’ll be feeling much more comfortable.
It’s still very early days for Bear, and there’s a lot for him to adjust to. But we’ll be giving him all the time, patience, and love he needs — and we’ll be back with updates as his journey unfolds.
